Running Training Plans
Over two decades of coaching runners, running myself, and studying the actual science of the sport has put me in a unique position to create training plans that not only work but take into consideration that running doesn’t have to result in injury or suffering! Running is quite joyful! But some of us have forgotten how to run. At some point in our lives we were either punished with laps in gym class for goofing off, told to stop running as kids and to calm down and walk, or just stopped exercising all together because our lives got too busy.
Whether you want to run to stay fit and healthy or complete your local 5k, vacation destination race, or PR a marathon or ultramarathon, I’ve got you covered! Having a plan is essential and data to reassure your efforts are in-line with what you want to achieve is how you will accomplish what you set out to do! And not only will you do it, you will have fun! You will stay healthy because all of the plans I build set you up for success by implementing stability and mobility workouts that protect your body from injury and cross-training workouts that improve fitness while keeping weekly mileage under control. The concept of all plans follow what is called progressive overload. So, what does that mean? Progressive overload is a consistent and methodical way to gradually increase training elements while still allowing the body to recover, ultimately resulting in a fitter and stronger mind and body. With my plans you will get detailed descriptions of workouts, explanation of all terms used, tips and drills focusing on proper running form, and motivation to keep you going!
